The Ukrainian robotic medical evacuation system Vepr, capable of evacuating two wounded personnel simultaneously, has been approved for use in combat conditions.
It is noted that the first prototypes of the system have been in use on the front lines since 2024, and the platform has now been modernized and adapted to the current needs of the front.
The robotic system has the following capabilities:
evacuation of the wounded (up to two people at a time)
transportation of cargo and ammunition
delivery of military equipment to the front lines
demining of territories
capability to be used as a kamikaze strike platform
According to technical specifications, the Vepr is capable of carrying approximately 350 kg of cargo and has a range of up to 40 km.
Reports indicate that ground robotic systems (GRS) perform up to 10,000 tasks on the front lines each month, which helps reduce risks to personnel and save the lives of soldiers.
The developers emphasize that the system is easy to operate and durable, making it suitable for use in the harsh conditions of combat operations.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In May 2026, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially codified and approved for service in the Defense Forces 175 new models of weapons and military equipment (WME). The vast majority of these new items—nearly 93%—are the result of the work of Ukrainian designers and manufacturers.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the Shablya MK19(M) remotely controlled combat module for use by the troops. It is equipped with a 40-mm MK19 automatic grenade launcher.
