Ukraine Will Not Produce Missiles for the Patriot System: An Analyst Explains Why
Ukraine will not manufacture American PAC-3 missiles for Patriot air defense systems on its territory, even if it receives the necessary licenses from the United States.
This opinion was expressed by military analyst Dmytro Snegirev.
According to him, Washington insists on locating production in Germany due to security risks, as Ukrainian enterprises remain potential targets for Russian missile strikes.
“In addition to the constant threat of Russian missile strikes, Washington fears that documentation for the PAC-3 could fall into the hands of Russian intelligence agencies through corrupt officials,” Snegirev said.
The analyst believes that it is precisely the combination of security and technological risks that makes localizing the production of such missiles in Ukraine unlikely, and that manufacturing them in partner countries remains the most realistic option.
