There are plans to extend martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days. The president is expected to submit the relevant decrees to the Verkhovna Rada in the near future, and their consideration and vote could take place as early as next week.

In the coming days, the President will submit decrees to Parliament for approval to extend martial law and general mobilization for 90 days.
And as early as next Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada will vote on these issues at its 19th session.
The procedure is standard:
submission of the laws by the President based on a decision by the National Security and Defense Council;
review of both bills by the Verkhovna Rada’s Defense Committee;
submission to a vote by the Rada (226+ votes required for each);
signing by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada;
signing by the President.
The term of the previous decrees is currently valid until May 4, 2026.
