Ukraine has lifted restrictions on female civil servants traveling abroad, according to the State Border Guard Service
New rules for crossing the state border have come into effect in Ukraine, completely lifting restrictions on women, particularly those working in government agencies, local government bodies, state-owned enterprises, and courts.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
From now on, all women, without exception, can freely cross Ukraine’s state border. The new rules are already being applied during border control at checkpoints.
The State Border Guard Service emphasized that the changes also apply to female civil servants who previously faced restrictions on leaving the country.
Border guards reiterated the government’s position, which was previously announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
“The government is lifting restrictions on border crossings for all women without exception, regardless of their positions in government agencies, local self-government bodies, state-owned enterprises, and courts,” she noted.
The restrictions had been in effect since January 2023 and applied to women in public service. At that time, travel abroad was permitted only for official business trips.
Following the adopted changes, the government has completely lifted these rules, allowing all women to cross the border freely.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is launching a new service called “Personal Account,” which will allow citizens to independently check for any temporary restrictions on traveling abroad.
Earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine denied information circulating on social media about an alleged sharp increase in the activities of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the Chernihiv region.
