Soldier to Face Trial for Selling Weapons Brought from Kursk Region – Video

Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations have completed their pre-trial investigation and filed an indictment against a military servicemember from the Sumy region. The man is accused of illegally possessing and selling firearms, ammunition, and explosives without the required legal authorization.

According to the investigation, while performing combat missions in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation in 2025, the soldier found two foreign-made assault rifles, a grenade launcher, four grenades with fuses, and 152 rounds of ammunition at abandoned Russian military positions. Instead of handing over the found weapons in accordance with established procedures, he transported them to his unit’s deployment location and began looking for buyers.

In the city of Krolevets, the serviceman managed to sell one assault rifle for $2,000, after which he agreed with the same buyer to sell the rest of the arsenal. DBR officers caught the man “red-handed” while he was receiving payment for the final transaction and seized the funds, weapons, and ammunition. The soldier is charged with violating Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

This was reported by the DBR.

In the Sumy region, during operational activities, SBI officers discovered an ammunition cache equipped by Russian military personnel near the border. Nearly forty anti-tank mines and 10 homemade explosive devices were stored there.

In the Chernihiv region, border guards and police officers discovered a cache of ammunition in a non-residential building in one of the villages. Serviceable ammunition will be transferred to the Defense Forces, and unserviceable ammunition will be destroyed.
