The problem of the lack of soldiers in Ukraine is getting worse due to the mass emigration of men to Europe, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned
He noted that the war, which has been going on for almost four years, has had a significant impact on the country's human resources. Russian troops are continuously advancing, and Klitschko compared their actions to a computer game where the enemy does not take into account losses. Under the current rules, only Ukrainians over the age of 25 are subject to mobilization, whereas previously only 18-year-olds could serve in the army.

Klitschko expressed concern about the rise in emigration of young men, which resulted from a government decree in August that allowed men aged 18 to 22 to leave the country. In September, more than 79,000 new decisions on temporary protection for Ukrainians were recorded, the highest number in the last two years. The mayor emphasized that the mismatch between Ukraine's human resources and the size of the Russian army is growing.
Klitschko noted that the future of Ukraine depends on the return of emigrants after the war. He hopes that if there is peace, work and a decent quality of life, some young people will return to the country. However, according to the mayor, Ukraine will face great challenges in the post-war period.
