Tomato prices in Ukraine continue to fall. Currently, tomatoes cost about 15% less than at the end of last week. The price drop is linked to the arrival of significant volumes of produce from summer greenhouses on the market, which has increased supply across the country.
“Under these conditions, attempts by local greenhouse farms to maintain previous price levels were accompanied by a slowdown in sales, forcing producers to resort to downward price adjustments,” analysts explain.
It is noted that as of today, large greenhouse complexes are ready to ship available tomato batches at 90–130 UAH/kg, which is on average 15% cheaper than at the end of last week.
“Project analysts describe this price drop in the tomato segment as a traditional seasonal phenomenon. It is worth noting that during the same period last year, these vegetables were sold in Ukraine at an average of 37% cheaper than today. At that time, the price drop for local tomatoes was more significant than it is now,” the analysts add.
Over the past year, prices for meat and meat products in Ukraine have risen by up to 45% in some places. Beef remains the most expensive—its price continues to hover at record levels. Experts predict that by the end of winter, meat prices could rise by another 5–7%.

New potatoes have become significantly more expensive: prices nearly doubled in just a few days.
