The organizer of a grain procurement scheme has been extradited to Ukraine
The organizer of a scheme that caused significant losses to a state-owned enterprise in the agro-industrial sector has been extradited to Ukraine. According to the investigation, the state lost more than 13 million hryvnias as a result of the perpetrators’ actions. A private entrepreneur illegally purchased grain at a price that was half the market rate.
This was reported with reference to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
“In collusion with the management of the state-owned enterprise ‘Center for Certification and Expertise of Seeds and Planting Material’ and other individuals, he purchased grain at a price half the market rate. Additionally, the state-owned enterprise commissioned and paid him for agricultural work, the cost of which was artificially inflated,” the statement reads.
According to the investigation, the state suffered losses of 13.4 million hryvnias as a result of these illegal actions. It is worth noting that NABU and the SAPO uncovered the crime back in March 2023. At that time, the suspect was already abroad, so he was placed on the wanted list.
In December 2025, the High Anti-Corruption Court sentenced the organizer of the scheme in absentia to three years and 10 months in prison.
The convicted man was handed over at the Krakivets–Korchova international road border crossing in Lviv Oblast.
