The High Anti-Corruption Court denied Yermak's request to have his electronic ankle monitor removed

The High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the preventive measure imposed on Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President. The court denied the defense’s motion to lift the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device.

Previously, the court had imposed a pretrial measure on Yermak in the form of pretrial detention with the option of posting bail in the amount of 140 million hryvnias. After the bail was posted, he was released from custody but remained subject to a number of procedural obligations, including wearing an electronic ankle monitor.

According to the court, Andriy Yermak is suspected of laundering property obtained by criminal means (Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigators are insisting on keeping Yermak in custody with a probable bail of 180 million hryvnias, given the scale of the financial transactions in the “Dynasty” cottage community. The judge is continuing to review procedural issues and is setting a schedule for further hearings.

On the evening of May 11, after receiving a notice of suspicion from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Andriy Yermak, former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that he would not comment on the matter during the investigation.
