Spring is ending on a cold note—what will the weather be like this weekend in Ukraine?
Cool weather is expected in Ukraine this weekend, with daytime temperatures in some areas not exceeding 10°C. According to forecasts, warmer weather will return a little later. The last days of May will be quite cool, and rain is possible.
This is reported with reference to a post by meteorologist and weather forecaster Natalka Didenko on Facebook.
Where in Ukraine will it be the coldest, and vice versa
The expert said that this year’s spring “will wave a beautiful hand at us from inside a cool glove.”
This means that on Saturday (May 30) and Sunday (May 31), low temperatures are expected in most regions of Ukraine.
Didenko clarified that during the day—on both May 30 and May 31—averages are expected to be only +12...+17°C.
At the same time, it will be slightly warmer in the western regions of Ukraine—around +19...+23°C.
According to the meteorologist, it will be warmest in Zakarpattia—up to +24 degrees Celsius.
The meteorologist also noted that it will be particularly cold during the day on Sunday, May 31:
in Zhytomyr Oblast;
in the Kyiv region;
in the Cherkasy region;
in Vinnytsia Oblast;
in the Rivne region.
There, the air temperature will be only +10...+13°C.
What to expect this weekend in terms of precipitation and wind
According to Didenko, wet weather will dominate across Ukraine throughout the weekend.
"Rain will be intermittent—practically everywhere," she explained.
Only on Saturday (May 30) is dry weather expected in western Ukraine.
The wind will be predominantly northwesterly:
May 30—still gusty in some places;
May 31—calmer (will die down).
What will the weather be like in Kyiv and when will it warm up?
In Kyiv, according to the expert, the weather on May 30–31 will also be cold. Rain is expected at times.
"Daytime temperatures are expected to range from +12 to +14 degrees," Didenko clarified.
At the same time, she noted that “the cold weather is offset by beautiful greenery and fragrant acacia.”
Finally, the meteorologist reported that with the start of summer—on June 1—warmer weather will arrive in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center released a forecast for the second month of spring, according to which temperatures and precipitation will remain within the climatic norm.
