Since the start of the full-scale war, nearly 1,400 law enforcement officers have been charged with treason
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the State Bureau of Investigations has charged 1,733 individuals in criminal cases involving treason, collaboration, and aiding the aggressor state. Of these, 1,377 are law enforcement officers.
The agency noted that most of the law enforcement officers who were charged remained in the temporarily occupied territories after the start of the full-scale war and began collaborating with the enemy.
The State Bureau of Investigation emphasized that, in wartime, individuals who were supposed to defend the state, possessed classified information, weapons, or official authority, but defected to the enemy, pose a particular threat. That is why purging the law enforcement and government systems of traitors remains one of the bureau’s top priorities.
As of July 31, 2026, the State Bureau of Investigation is conducting pretrial investigations in 3,061 criminal cases involving crimes against the foundations of Ukraine’s national security.

As a reminder, the State Bureau of Investigations has released the interim results of Operation “Honest Draft.” As part of 17 criminal cases, law enforcement officers conducted 61 searches, served notices of suspicion to 15 individuals, and detained two suspects.
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police uncovered nine new schemes for evading mobilization in various regions of the country. As part of these special operations, 23 organizers of these schemes were detained; they had been helping conscripts avoid conscription or illegally leave the country in exchange for money.
