The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) has completed a pretrial investigation into the platoon commander of a military unit in the Kyiv region. According to the investigation, he extorted 80,000 hryvnias from the sister of one of his subordinates, promising safer conditions for the soldier’s service.
According to the investigation, the commander contacted the soldier’s sister and stated that for 80,000 hryvnias, her brother would not encounter any problems during his military service.
If she refused to hand over the money, he threatened to create problems for the soldier and arrange for his transfer to a unit carrying out combat missions directly on the front lines.
Law enforcement officials documented the receipt of the unlawful benefit.
