A listening device was discovered in Andriy Sadovyi’s official car. The mayor of Lviv stated that he would contact the relevant authorities regarding this incident.
On Friday, September 18, a listening device was discovered in the Lviv mayor’s official car. The device contained a power supply board, an antenna, a SIM card slot, a memory card, and an external microphone.
As the mayor of Lviv explained, the suspicious device was found inside the car after the battery had completely drained twice in a row and an unusual knocking sound had been heard.
“How did we discover it? Over the past month, the battery had drained to zero twice. Plus, something started making a knocking sound. We took it apart, took a look—and here’s what we found. I have no idea who could have put this here, but if it was placed here officially by our authorities pursuant to a court order—please come and take it away. If it’s ‘nobody’s,’ but is needed for any investigations, law enforcement agencies can also take a look at it. I’ll inform the heads of the relevant agencies,” said Andriy Sadovyi.
At the same time, the mayor noted that exactly one year ago, a listening device was discovered in his phone in his office. At that time, a report was filed with law enforcement, but no clear answer regarding the device’s origin was ever provided.
