Video: Patrol officers in Chernihiv rescued a man after he was electrocuted
In Chernihiv, police officers came to the aid of a man who had suffered an electric shock. While patrolling Pirogov Street, bicycle patrol officers heard cries for help and immediately rushed to the scene.
At the scene, the officers found a man near a metal gate with a bare electrical wire lying on it. After making sure the danger had passed, the officers helped the victim to his feet, called an emergency medical team, and stayed with him until the paramedics arrived. The man was subsequently hospitalized.
The police urged citizens to be cautious near power lines and damaged electrical equipment, and to report any hazardous areas to the appropriate services or call 112.
According to the head of state, the attacker and his accomplice have already been detained. The president thanked law enforcement for their prompt response and noted that the necessary investigative measures are underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
The day before, a 31-year-old man in Kyiv was notified that he was suspected of murdering a 55-year-old doctor from the Military Medical Commission. According to the investigation, he inflicted approximately 17 stab wounds on the woman after learning that he had been deemed fit for military service.
In Kyiv’s Podilskyi district, patrol officers detained a 17-year-old youth who had threatened his family with a knife and, during the arrest, stabbed one of the officers. The injured officer was hospitalized, and the assailant was taken into custody.
