Kolomoyskyi's case involving the misappropriation of 9.2 billion hryvnias from PrivatBank has been referred to court
Based on evidence from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment with the High Anti-Corruption Court against the former ultimate beneficial owner of PJSC CB “PrivatBank,” and five former employees of the institution. They are accused of embezzling more than 9.2 billion hryvnias from the bank.
According to the investigation, between January and March 2015, one of the bank’s owners devised a scheme to artificially create an obligation to pay funds to a controlled non-resident company for the alleged repurchase of the bank’s own bonds at an inflated price.
Five top managers and heads of relevant departments at the financial institution were involved in carrying out the scheme. A portion of the embezzled funds, amounting to over 446 million hryvnias, was laundered and contributed to PrivatBank’s authorized capital to formally comply with its financial recovery program, while the participants in the scheme disposed of the remaining funds at their own discretion.

The Court of Appeal of England and Wales upheld the decision to recover over $3 billion from PrivatBank’s former owners, Ihor Kolomoyskyi and Hennadiy Boholyubov. This involves compensation for damages, interest, and legal costs, which were previously determined by the High Court of England and Wales.
On June 24, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv denied a motion by Ihor Kolomoyskyi’s defense team to change the order in which evidence would be examined in the 2003 attempted murder case. The victim in the case, Karpenko, testified for the first time during the court proceedings.
