Fedorov is not considering any options other than serving as defense minister
Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that he has no moral right to pursue any other endeavors besides returning to his post.
Despite receiving offers to go into business or other fields, Fedorov emphasized the importance of continuing the fight. According to him, as long as Ukrainians believe in the possibility of positive change, there remains a chance for him to return to lead the Defense Ministry.
Fedorov also drew attention to a legal nuance regarding the current leadership of the defense ministry. At present, the ministry is headed by an acting minister who is not a member of the government and has no voting rights at Cabinet meetings. The former minister emphasized that this temporary situation cannot last long, so the Verkhovna Rada must set a deadline and, after the recess, vote to appoint a full-fledged head of the Ministry of Defense.
Commenting on the public protests, during which his name has been mentioned, Fedorov thanked citizens for their support and called it a strong sign of civic engagement. In his view, this proves that the Russian occupiers have failed to subdue Ukrainian democracy, and the country will continue to move toward implementing its war plan and achieving the necessary outcome.
Fedorov made these remarks during a live broadcast on Serhiy Sternenko’s YouTube channel.
