Video: A Ukrainian woman played "What a Moonlit Night" on a surviving grand piano amid the ruins of her own home
A heart-wrenching video is gaining popularity online, showing a Ukrainian woman who returned to her home—destroyed by a Russian strike—and played a piano that miraculously survived.
The footage shows a woman named Tetyana entering her own room, pushing aside debris from the furniture and a chandelier that had fallen to the floor due to the blast wave.
Despite the extensive damage, the grand piano remained intact. The woman makes her way through the debris, sits down at the instrument, and begins to play.
Before she begins, she addresses someone off-camera: “You know, I was supposed to invite you…”
After that, Tetiana performs the well-known Ukrainian song “What a Moonlit Night.”
The video shows the extent of the damage in the room. The suspended ceiling has collapsed, debris and construction insulation lie on the floor, and in one corner, amid the dust and shattered belongings, a New Year’s tree remains standing.
At the same time, the grand piano, which found itself literally amid the rubble, miraculously survived the Russian strike.
The footage quickly spread on social media and elicited a strong emotional response from users.
