Service members will receive compensation for their own innovations for the front lines
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new licensing procedure for defense technologies developed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. From now on, military personnel involved in development will be able to receive at least 25% of the proceeds from the sale of licenses for their technological solutions.
The new mechanism allows state-funded military developments to be transferred to mass production through a transparent licensing system. The remaining proceeds from the licenses will be directed toward the development of military research, innovation, and support for the units where these technologies were created.
The resolution also opens the market to developments from all branches of the Armed Forces, introduces a competitive selection process for obtaining exclusive licenses, and establishes uniform rules for cooperation between the state and the defense industry.
The Ministry of Defense notes that the new system is intended to accelerate the implementation of innovations on the front lines, encourage the military to create new solutions, and help Ukrainian companies scale up successful developments.
