There are plans to automatically block access to casinos for military personnel in Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution that launches a mechanism to automatically restrict military personnel’s access to gambling during martial law.
The system will operate through government registries. When a player logs in, a licensed operator will verify their information against special databases. If a person is serving in the military, access to gambling will be automatically blocked.
However, gambling operators will not see the reason for the restriction and will not receive information about the user’s military status. Data exchange between registries will be carried out through the “Trembita” system.
The government explains the decision as a measure to combat gambling addiction among military personnel and to protect personal data. Technical preparations are currently underway to launch the mechanism, which is intended to cover all licensed gambling operators in Ukraine.
The state agency “PlayCity” has decided to revoke the licenses of two gambling operators following an investigation that revealed their ties to an aggressor country. As a result, the Favbet Casino/Favbet Poker and Billionaire brands are effectively disappearing from the Ukrainian market.
The Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries conducted an unscheduled inspection of the online casino SlotCity. Based on the results, the company “All City Games,” which operates under the SlotCity brand, was fined 4.323 million hryvnias.
