A professor at a Kharkiv university has been accused of treason

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against a senior English instructor at a local university, who is accused of gathering intelligence for the Russian Ministry of Defense's special services. The woman is charged with treason committed under martial law.

The investigation established that the defendant was a supporter of the “Russian World,” had visited Russia on multiple occasions, where she was recruited, and beginning in the fall of 2025, she began transmitting photos, videos, and screenshots of maps showing the deployment and movements of Ukrainian troops in Kharkiv to the enemy via Telegram.

To maintain secrecy, the woman used a separate phone, corresponded in English, and regularly deleted messages; however, law enforcement officers detained her and took her into custody. In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court conviction.

This was reported by prosecutors from the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent in Mykolaiv who was working for Russia. The individual is a repeat offender who passed information about the location of the Defense Forces to the enemy.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine issued an in absentia notice of suspicion against Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, who is believed to be involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.

In Dnipro and Odesa, Russian agents who were setting fires in the cities were exposed.
