A network supplying construction materials to the occupiers has been uncovered

Authorities in Ukraine have uncovered a scheme in which a network of commercial enterprises was used to organize the supply of construction materials for the Russian Ministry of Defense, despite existing sanctions and a full-scale war. According to the investigation, this was a systematic operation that provided the occupying army with resources for the construction and fortification of military infrastructure. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, after the invasion began, the director of a group of companies established cooperation with enterprises in the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied Crimea, using controlled entities to participate in tenders and fulfill contracts. “To conceal the activities, the business was re-registered under trusted individuals in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in the Russian Federation, though actual management was carried out from Ukraine. The suspect coordinated the work of the enterprises, determined the roles of participants, and controlled financial flows,” the prosecutor’s office stated.

The investigation established that companies linked to the suspect supplied construction materials for the construction of Russian military facilities, including fortifications, defense enterprises, and repair bases, and also participated in public procurement by the Russian Ministry of Defense. During the full-scale aggression, they paid over 100 million rubles in taxes to the Russian budget.

Separately, law enforcement officials note that financial support was provided by an accountant from Kyiv, who remotely handled accounting and reporting; she has already been sentenced to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Currently, charges have been filed against the director and three other individuals who are in hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, and during searches, documents, electronic media, and other evidence confirming the scheme’s operations were seized.
