Eight military units have lost the right to conduct recruit training on their own, — Syrsky

Eight military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost their right to conduct basic military training independently following inspections carried out in May.

According to Syrskyi, high-quality training of military personnel remains one of the Ukrainian army’s key priorities.

“Our attitude toward people is what fundamentally distinguishes us from the Russian aggressor. We value our people, which is why high-quality training of service members remains one of our top priorities, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

He stressed that it is precisely professionalism, effective training, and asymmetric solutions that allow the Ukrainian military to successfully counter an enemy with greater manpower.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to adapt their training system to modern warfare conditions. In particular, the basic military training program now includes practical exercises on detecting and destroying small unmanned aerial vehicles, including FPV drones and copter drones.

Syrskyi also emphasized the importance of the human factor during the training of new recruits.

“Where commanders care for their subordinates, improve living conditions, and develop the training infrastructure—where instructors mentor recruits and maintain constant communication— —there is higher-quality training and fewer cases of unauthorized desertion,” he noted.

During the working meeting, the Commander-in-Chief reviewed the results of inspections at 72 military units authorized to conduct basic military training at their own bases.

Based on the inspection results, a series of personnel and organizational decisions were made. The most severe of these was the revocation of the right of eight military units to train recruits independently.

In addition, certain brigades and regiments were instructed to review their capabilities, improve their training facilities, living conditions, and the quality of personnel training.

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the requirements for training military personnel are the same for all units.

“No one is off-limits. The quality of military personnel training must meet uniform high standards, Syrskyi stated.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to refine the basic training system, improve the adaptation of mobilized service members in training centers and combat units, strengthen psychological training, and implement additional measures to prevent unauthorized desertion.

The meeting also reviewed proposals from representatives of various branches and types of troops and combat brigades regarding further improvements to the effectiveness of Ukrainian military training.

This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Facebook.

Prior to this, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi made a working trip to the southern regions of the country, where he personally inspected the organization of combat operations by air defense units
