"EU accession is what the Ukrainian people deserve," says the Irish Prime Minister
Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin stated that the Ukrainian people deserve membership in the European Union, and that it is the task of Ukraine’s partners to help the country overcome all obstacles, including issues related to the positions of certain neighboring states.
During a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Dublin, Martin emphasized that Ukrainians are defending not only their country but also their aspiration to live according to European values.
“The Ukrainian people deserve the European way of life and all the freedoms that come with it. We must keep this in mind as our primary goal. And Russia cannot win this war,” the Irish prime minister stated.
He also stressed that European partners must help Ukraine overcome all challenges on the path to full EU membership.
