Four more children from the Kherson region have been returned from the occupied territories

Four more children have been successfully returned from the temporarily occupied Kherson region and brought to territory controlled by Ukraine. The group consists of two boys and two girls aged 6 to 17, who are now safe and receiving assistance. This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

Ukraine continues to bring children back from temporarily occupied territories, and this time another small group was successfully brought home from the Kherson region, where the children were under Russian occupation and in need of immediate protection.

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, noting that four children—two boys and two girls aged 6 to 17—have been returned to territory controlled by Ukraine, where they are now in safe conditions and receiving the necessary support from specialists.

The return took place as part of the presidential initiative “Bring Kids Back UA” with the assistance of the charity “Save Ukraine,” which is involved in the evacuation and assistance of children who have found themselves under occupation or have been forcibly displaced. Authorities emphasize that each such return is a separate complex operation requiring coordination, security, and the involvement of partners, as these are children who were in a high-risk zone.

Currently, all the returned children are now safe, where medical professionals and psychologists are working with them to help restore normal living conditions after their experiences of occupation, separation from home, and prolonged stay under the control of Russian occupation forces.

It is also noted that the international community continues to focus on the issue of returning Ukrainian children: various countries are adopting resolutions and initiatives demanding their return even before any peace agreements are reached.

Ukraine, together with its partners, is working to expand repatriation mechanisms, engage intermediaries, and ensure systematic efforts to locate and evacuate children from the temporarily occupied territories.

In Ukraine, 2,318 children remain actively missing since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
