Since the beginning of the year, the ombudsman has received the most complaints from military personnel, veterans, and prisoners of war

Since the beginning of 2026, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights has received 87,704 complaints from citizens. Most often, Ukrainians raise issues regarding the protection of the rights of military personnel, veterans, prisoners of war, and their family members.

According to him, in May and June alone, the Commissioner’s Office received 31,624 appeals, which contained 59,346 separate issues.

The largest number of complaints during this period concerned:

  • the protection of the rights of military personnel, veterans, prisoners of war, and their families—18,064;
  • procedural rights and respect for rights in places of detention—6,441;
  • the right to petition, access to public information, and protection of personal data—5,118;
  • the protection of the rights of citizens affected by the Russian Federation’s armed aggression — 3,170.

Dmytro Lubinets emphasized that the significant number of complaints indicates a high level of need among citizens to protect their rights, especially amid a full-scale war.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will conduct a comprehensive inspection of the territorial recruitment and social support centers in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. The reason for this was numerous complaints from citizens regarding possible violations, including the confiscation of cell phones, humiliation of human dignity, and other unlawful actions.

The Ministry of Defense announced a new large-scale procurement of 155-mm artillery shells for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Reserve+ app experienced a glitch: users temporarily lost access to their documents.
