So far, only 666 UAH has been posted as bail for Iryna Mudra
A symbolic bail of 666 UAH was posted for Iryna Mudra, the former deputy head of the Office of the President. The funds were transferred by Grigory Gryshkan, a TV personality, producer, and public figure. He announced this publicly.
However, this amount is insufficient to secure Mudra’s release from custody. On August 25, the High Anti-Corruption Court remanded her in custody for 60 days, setting an alternative bail amount of 20 million hryvnias. Prosecutors from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) had requested that bail be set at 150 million UAH.
Mudra is a suspect in the “Forest Gump” anti-corruption operation conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the SAPO. According to investigators, she may have been a member of a criminal organization that, among other things, attempted to gain control of the state-owned Sense Bank and launder 150 million hryvnias in cash.
As of August 27, the bail for former Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Mudra, which the court set at 20 million hryvnias, had not yet been posted.
Mudra’s defense team has called for a critical assessment of the prosecutor’s statements.
