The EU has not yet reached an agreement on new Patriot missiles for Ukraine
The European Union has not adopted any new decisions regarding the transfer of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems to Ukraine.
This was stated by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas following an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Ireland.
According to her, the participants discussed the possibility of additional missile deliveries for Ukraine’s air defense systems, but none of the countries made any specific commitments.
In particular, the discussion focused on potential deliveries from Greece and Spain.
“As for the Patriot missiles, we did not reach any specific decisions today, but there were calls for action and discussions,” Kallas said.
She added that negotiations on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense will continue, but there are no concrete results at this time.
As a reminder, European countries have intensified their search for interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems they plan to transfer to Ukraine. Kyiv is seeking to strengthen its missile defense ahead of a possible new wave of Russian attacks this winter.
