More than 180,000 families of first-graders have submitted applications for the "Schoolchild's Package" payment
More than 180,000 families of first-graders have already applied for the government payment under the “Schoolchild’s Package” program. That’s nearly 80% of the families whose children started school for the first time this year.
The application period for the program has been open for nearly a month. During this time, parents have submitted over 180,000 applications, of which 151,000 have already been approved.
“Nearly 80% of families with first-graders have already applied for the payment. This shows that the program is in high demand and truly meets the needs of Ukrainian families,” the ministry noted.
The amount of the benefit is 5,000 hryvnias per child.
Most often, families use the funds from the “Schoolchild’s Package” for clothing and school supplies.
According to the ministry, the breakdown of expenses is as follows:
- 28.8% – family clothing;
- 27.7% – children’s clothing;
- 25.1% – school supplies;
- 5.3% – discount stores;
- 3.7% – shoes;
- 3.6% – toy stores;
- 1.9% – books.
Thus, the largest portion of the funds goes toward preparing children for the school year and purchasing necessary school supplies.
Parents of first-graders can apply for the payment by November 1.
The funds are deposited onto the universal “Diya.Card.”
Families whose children have started school in territory controlled by Ukraine are eligible for this government assistance.
You can apply:
- through the “Diya” app;
- at service centers of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The ministry urges families who have not yet taken advantage of the program not to delay applying for the payment and to submit their application by the deadline.
This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine.
Ukrainian families are already receiving their first payments under the state program “Schoolchild’s Package.” In the first phase of the initiative, the government allocated over 308 million hryvnias to nearly 61,000 families.
Ukrainians will begin receiving payments under the “National Cashback” program for April starting July 3, 2026. According to a decision by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, the deadline for using all accrued funds has been extended through July 31.
