Stefanishyna's former colleagues will post her bail

Olga Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s former ambassador to the United States, stated that her former colleagues in the legal profession will post her bail of 6 million hryvnias.

According to her, the amount set by the court is excessive for her and her family. The money is to be transferred on August 13, while the appeal regarding the preventive measure and the amount of bail is being considered in court.

Stefanishyna noted that her former business partners had worked with her even before she entered public service and are now also involved in her defense.

Her attorneys have already filed an appeal challenging both the pretrial measure itself and the amount of bail. The Appeal Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court is scheduled to hear the appeal on August 19.

Olga Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s former ambassador to the U.S., stated that she currently lacks the funds to post the 6 million hryvnia bail set by the High Anti-Corruption Court. According to her, she will seek a way to comply with the court’s decision.

Earlier, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) served Stefanyishyna with a new indictment.

Recently, President Zelenskyy dismissed Stefanishyna from her post as Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S.

NABU conducted searches in connection with the case involving Stefanyishyna’s possible illicit enrichment.
