Prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General have notified the deputy director of the municipal institution “Culture and Recreation Park "Hydropark," who is suspected of receiving 1.5 million hryvnias in unlawful benefits for granting the right to hold events on the park’s grounds.
According to the investigation, a representative of a private company proposed implementing a social project at Hydropark to host sports and entertainment events.
During negotiations, the official—according to investigators—stated that in order to sign the contract and proceed with the project, he needed to be given half of the funds planned to be raised from sponsors.
Initially, the amount of the bribe was 5 million hryvnias, but it was later reduced to 1.5 million hryvnias.
According to law enforcement, to conceal the receipt of the funds, the official sent another employee of the municipal institution to the meeting. At a gas station in Kyiv, that employee received a package containing 1.5 million hryvnias, which he was supposed to hand over to the suspect.
The official’s actions were classified under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—receipt of an unlawful benefit by a public official.
The court imposed a preventive measure on the suspect in the form of pretrial detention, with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of 3 million hryvnias.
In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law and by a court conviction.

The Military Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine has exposed the former director of the Department of Military-Technical Policy for the Development of Weapons and Military Equipment at the Ministry of Defense, who, according to the investigation, was involved in the procurement of defective mortars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth 182 million hryvnias.
Earlier, law enforcement officials notified a former director of a state-owned enterprise and a private entrepreneur that they were under suspicion in a case involving the illegal sale of 990 metric tons of corn at an undervalued price. According to the investigation, the scheme caused the state losses of nearly 5 million hryvnias, and state-owned land was effectively used by a private entity under the guise of providing agricultural services.
The High Anti-Corruption Court found Luka Kril, a judge of the Turka District Court in Lviv Oblast, guilty of receiving an unlawful benefit and sentenced him to eight years in prison.
NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors served a notice of suspicion to an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine who incited a representative of a commercial enterprise to provide an unlawful benefit.
