Zelenskyy announced new diplomatic agreements to strengthen Ukraine

Zelenskyy announced the strengthening of Ukraine’s role as a strategic partner in the Middle East and the Gulf

In an evening address on April 6, 2026, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the unprecedented strengthening of Ukraine’s diplomatic position in the Middle East region.

According to the head of state, Ukraine has, for the first time in history, become a “welcome and strong partner” there, actively cooperating with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Oman, and Bahrain. The President emphasized the importance of restoring a permanent diplomatic presence in Syria following the fall of the Assad regime and stressed that Ukraine had fundamentally supported the region during the Iranian regime’s attacks.

Special attention was paid to energy and logistics security during the visits: the head of Naftogaz is currently working on implementing the agreements reached in Istanbul, while NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov is ensuring deeper defense and economic cooperation in the Gulf countries. Zelensky emphasized that stability in the Middle East directly impacts global markets, food security, and maritime navigation, which is why Ukraine is promoting the idea of a just peace for all nations. Against the backdrop of Russian aggression, Kyiv is preparing new security agreements designed to definitively cement the country’s status as a key guarantor of international stability. The pursuit of lasting peace remains the top priority of Ukrainian diplomacy across all geopolitical fronts.

In an evening address on April 6, 2026, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated Ukraine’s readiness to reciprocally cease attacks on energy infrastructure if the Russian side agrees to stop its terror against the Ukrainian power grid.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if Russia ceases its strikes on energy infrastructure, Ukraine will respond in kind. At the same time, he expressed doubt regarding the possibility of Russia announcing a general mobilization in the near future, noting that he does not have complete information on this matter.
