Zelenskyy and Terekhov discussed applying Kharkiv's experience to other cities

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov about extending the city’s best practices to other communities. The two discussed the implementation of Kharkiv’s resilience plans amid ongoing Russian shelling.

 

The head of state met with Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The main topic of discussion was the defense of the city, which comes under attack from Russian terrorists on a daily basis.

“The challenges facing the city are very serious—Kharkiv is under daily Russian terrorist attacks. It is important that, despite this, Kharkiv is providing the necessary assistance to its residents and that city services are responding very effectively,” Zelenskyy noted.

The parties discussed coordination between central, regional, and local authorities, as well as the key needs of Kharkiv’s communities.

The president emphasized that all decisions currently being prepared to protect the city must be implemented as quickly as possible. According to him, Kharkiv’s experience in supporting residents during the war is unique.

“Resilience plans must be implemented as soon as possible. Kharkiv’s experience in supporting people can be extended to our other cities and communities,” the president emphasized, thanking everyone working to ensure the safety of citizens.

Earlier, Zelenskyy heard a report from the head of Naftogaz following a meeting with Svyrydenko.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada named potential candidates for the position of prime minister.

On July 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans for personnel changes in the Cabinet of Ministers and the leadership of law enforcement agencies, which are intended to ensure the implementation of the state’s updated political strategy.

Earlier, Svyrydenko denied rumors about the dismissal of Education Minister Lisovyi.
