Zelenskyy Discussed Strengthening Ukraine’s Air Defense with the Norwegian Prime Minister
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre, during which the two sides discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and protection against Russian missile strikes.
According to the president, Norway is ready to assist with the supply of air defense systems and to work with partners that possess anti-ballistic capabilities. Zelenskyy emphasized the need to expedite all decisions regarding the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense as much as possible.
Separately, the parties discussed the implementation of the FREYJA program, coordinated further work for August, and prepared new agreements within the framework of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Norway.

Norway will allocate approximately $306 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system. In addition to financial assistance, the country will participate in the development of a joint missile defense system designed to enhance the protection of Ukraine’s airspace against Russian attacks.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Støre called on China to use its influence over Russia to facilitate the start of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
