Koretsky announced an increase in student scholarships and teachers' salaries effective September 1
Starting September 1, teachers’ salaries will increase by 20%, and student scholarships will double. In addition, more than 3 million schoolchildren will receive free meals.
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced this following a government meeting on August 6.
“By September 1, all educational institutions must be fully prepared for the new school year. Today, at the government meeting, we heard a report from the Ministry of Education and Science on the status of preparations. The top priority is the safety of students and teachers: we are continuing to build shelters and provide communities with school buses. Despite Russian attacks on printing plants and warehouses, students in all grades must be fully supplied with textbooks. “All issues that still require further work must be definitively resolved before the start of the school year,” Koretskyi stated.
