Zelenskyy discussed the supply of air defense systems with the Norwegian prime minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an urgent telephone conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The main topic of discussion was the latest massive strike by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian cities and the urgent need to strengthen air defense.
The Norwegian side officially confirmed its readiness to promptly provide new assistance to protect Ukrainian airspace from Russian aggression.
The Head of State expressed his deep gratitude to the Norwegian Prime Minister for his solidarity and support during this difficult time.
“I am grateful to Jonas for his support and words of condolence regarding the deaths of our people yesterday from a massive Russian attack. Twenty-three people were killed by Russian missiles and drones, and another 151 were wounded,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that it is critically important for Ukraine not to be left alone during such brutal terrorist attacks by the Russian Federation.
During the talks, the leaders focused on practical steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense shield.
“We discussed supplies for air defense: Norway is ready to help. Thank you! We are working to ensure that Europe has its own anti-ballistic capabilities. This is our common task, which we must fully accomplish and provide Europe with its own sufficiently strong system to protect against ballistic threats,” added the President of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy separately emphasized the strategic importance of protecting the entire European continent from the Kremlin’s modern missile challenges.
