Zelenskyy explained the reason for Fedorov's dismissal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained for the first time why the decision was made to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from his post as defense minister. According to him, one of the key factors was the lack of effective coordination between the Ministry of Defense and the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The head of state noted that such communication did not take place without his involvement, and added that the parties were unable to reach a consensus.
“And this problem isn’t just the parties’—it’s mine, too. In other words, I’m not shirking responsibility. And as I told you, I respect both sides; I know their strengths, I know their weaknesses, and I really want them to strengthen Ukraine, but things are what they are. And in this situation, you have a choice—either one side or the other, because without (me—ed.) they won’t sit down (at the negotiating table—ed.),” Zelenskyy said.
The president emphasized that the Ministry of Defense and the leadership of the Ukrainian army must carry out their work on their own every day.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to RBC-Ukraine.
