Koretsky Held the First Meeting of the New Government

Newly appointed Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi chaired the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in its new composition. During the meeting, the government identified the main areas of focus for the near future and set priority tasks for the ministers.

According to Koretsky, the main criteria for the work of each government member will be efficiency, accountability, and tangible results. The Cabinet plans to pay particular attention to the economy, security, and the country’s preparations for winter.

The new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has officially begun its work. Following his appointment as Prime Minister, Serhiy Koretskyi presided over the government’s first meeting. According to Koretsky, during the first meeting, the ministers identified the key tasks they will be working on in the near future. “We held the first meeting of the new Cabinet of Ministers. We identified the top priorities. I thank all the ministers for their readiness to work intensively. For every member of the government, the main criteria will be efficiency, accountability, and results,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

He noted that the new government will work at an intensive pace, and the fulfillment of its tasks will be evaluated not by promises, but by concrete results. Among the main areas of focus, Koretskyy cited strengthening the economy, national security issues, and preparing the country for the fall and winter. These topics, he said, remain among the government’s top priorities.

The Prime Minister also made it clear that he expects each minister to give their utmost and make swift decisions within the scope of their authority. As a reminder, on July 14, the Verkhovna Rada approved the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, after which the entire Cabinet of Ministers resigned.

On July 16, parliament approved a nomination by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and appointed Serhiy Koretskyi as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine. Following this, the Verkhovna Rada approved the new cabinet, which has already begun carrying out its duties. The first meeting of the Cabinet marked the start of the new government’s work. In the near future, ministers are to begin carrying out their assigned tasks, primarily in the areas of economic stability, national security, and preparations for the heating season. The head of the Cabinet announced this after the meeting concluded.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he will soon discuss the modernization of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, and the diplomatic team. According to him, embassies must operate much more effectively.
