Zelenskyy promoted three SBU officials to the rank of brigadier general

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has promoted three officials of the Security Service of Ukraine to the rank of brigadier general. 

This is evidenced by decrees published on the President’s website.

According to Decree No. 271/2026, the military rank of brigadier general has been conferred upon Colonel Anton Kravchuk, head of the SBU’s Main Directorate for Internal Security.

By Decree No. 272/2020, the rank of brigadier general was conferred upon Colonel Volodymyr Karastelov, First Deputy Head of the SBU’s Department for Counterintelligence Protection of State Interests in the Field of Information Security.

According to Decree No. 273/2026, Colonel Andriy Tupikov, Deputy Head of the SBU, was promoted to the rank of brigadier general.

As a reminder, Security Service of Ukraine Day is celebrated annually on March 25—the day the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law “On the Security Service of Ukraine” on March 25, 1992. 

The holiday was established by a decree of President Leonid Kuchma on March 22, 2001.
