Zelenskyy Congratulated Ukrainians on Father's Day

On June 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated citizens on Father’s Day.

In his address, he emphasized that the role of a father has taken on special significance in the context of war.

“A father is about protection and safety. And today, this has taken on an even deeper meaning, because Ukrainian fathers are defending not only their children but also the very possibility of a safe future,” the president noted.

Zelenskyy emphasized that, under current circumstances, being a father in Ukraine entails special responsibility and strength.

“Being a dad in Ukraine today requires extraordinary courage and extraordinary love.”

He also thanked all Ukrainian fathers—military personnel, civilians, educators, and those who support families amid the war.

“Thank you to all Ukrainian fathers for your care and strength… May every Ukrainian family have what we are fighting for—a peaceful and secure future. Happy Father’s Day!”

The head of state shared this message on Telegram.

In Ukraine, Father’s Day is traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday in June. In 2026, the holiday falls on June 21. On this day, Ukrainians congratulate fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and all men who actively participate in raising children and supporting their families.
