Zelenskyy Appoints New First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Yevhen Ostrianskyi from the post of First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The head of state appointed Serhiy Naumenko to replace him. The president signed the relevant decrees on August 17.
The relevant decrees dated August 17, Nos. 727/2026 and 728/2026, were published on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine on Monday.
NSDC Secretary Ihor Klymenko later wrote on his Telegram channel regarding Naumenko’s appointment: “I know Serhiy well from our time working together in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is a professional officer with combat experience who knows how to take responsibility and work toward results.”
According to Klymenko, there are many joint tasks ahead: first and foremost, strengthening coordination in the security and defense sector, developing technological capabilities, and working on solutions that the state needs today.
The relevant decrees dated August 17, Nos. 727/2026 and 728/2026, were published on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine on Monday.
