Zelenskyy Appointed a New Interim Head of the State Border Guard Service
On August 31, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Vadym Chenchyk, Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as acting head of the service. In doing so, the head of state replaced the interim head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The corresponding decree No. 837/2026, dated August 31, was published on the head of state’s website.
“Vadym Mykolayovych Chenchyk, Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, shall temporarily perform the duties of the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine,” the document states.
By a previous decree No. 836/2026 dated August 21, the President relieved Valeriy Vavryniuk of his temporary duties as head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Vadym Chenchik has held the position of Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service since September 9, 2019.

Earlier, Zelenskyy conferred the highest diplomatic rank on Stefanchuk.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also dismissed Andriy Kuzmenko from the post of Ukraine’s ambassador to Qatar. The head of state signed the corresponding decree on August 25, 2026.
