Fire Point's co-owner responded sharply to Chmut following the tragedy in Mila
On August 31, Denis Shtilerman, co-owner and chief designer of Fire Point, publicly clashed with Taras Chmut, head of the “Come Back Alive” Foundation, following a Russian strike on the company’s facility in the village of Mila in the Kyiv region. Shtilerman called Chmut a “scoundrel and a liar” in the wake of the tragedy that occurred after the strike and the subsequent detonation of ammunition.
In a post on X, Chmut referenced the events in Vyshneve, where criminal investigations were launched following a strike on an ammunition depot, and the heads of state-owned enterprises were subsequently fired and detained.
“Will there be a similar reaction this time? Or if the enterprise belongs to ‘our own,’ will we just ‘blame it on the war’ and the Russians? Because we can’t touch our own,” Chmut wrote.
However, in his post, he did not mention either Denis Shtilerman or Fire Point.
However, in response, Shterleman reacted sharply to Chmut’s words.
“You’re a scoundrel and a liar. How can you spread lies like that!” he wrote.
Daria Kalenyuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, also joined the debate.
“It seems to me that between the two of you, the scoundrel and liar isn’t Taras,” she wrote.

Prior to that, Shtilerman shared a video of a Ukrainian missile launch.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point announced the launch of its newest anti-ballistic missile interceptor, the FP-7.X, which will form the basis of the promising pan-European anti-aircraft missile system FREYJA.
Fire Point is working on developing its own engine for the FP-5 Flamingo missile.
