Zelenskyy commented on the situation in Transnistria and the threats in the Vinnytsia region

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the security situation along Ukraine’s borders, particularly around Transnistria and in the south. The head of state explained his position following an interview with Palisa, the deputy head of the Office of the President, which sparked discussion about potential risks to the Vinnytsia region.

Zelenskyy spoke about this during a closed-door meeting with journalists.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia’s intentions to create so-called “buffer zones” are not limited to a single area. The occupiers seek to establish such a zone along the entire border—not only the Russian border but also the Belarusian one.

“The Russians want a buffer zone along the entire border—not just their own, but also Belarus’s. And that includes Chernihiv and Sumy regions. There’s nothing new here,” the president emphasized.

The occupiers seek to push back Ukrainian forces and create gray zones under their control in the north and east of the country. The president paid special attention to the situation surrounding unrecognized Transnistria, which borders the Vinnytsia and Odesa regions. Despite concerns that arose in the media following statements by representatives of the Office of the President, Zelenskyy assured that no critical danger has been detected there at this time.

“Regarding Transnistria: to be honest, I don’t see a threat there today. The threat is where there are concentrations of Russian troops. Today we see concentrations in other directions—in the south, in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Their main objective remains unchanged—the Pokrovsk direction. It is an important city for them; they have long sought to capture it. And it is important for us because that is where our line of defense and our front lines are,” the head of state noted.

Zelenskyy awarded a number of cities the title of Hero City of Ukraine.

Ukraine has received new missiles for the Patriot system — Zelenskyy.

Air defense forces neutralized113 Russian drones; strikes were recorded in six locations.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the “Krymskaya” oil pumping station in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation. A fire broke out there following the attack. Warehouses and military equipment in the occupied territories were also hit.
