Zelenskyy convened a meeting of the High Command due to the threat of new Russian strikes on Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, where participants discussed the situation on the front lines, Russia’s preparations for new attacks, the protection of maritime logistics, and intensifying sanctions pressure on Russia.

During the meeting, the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapatiy, reported on the situation at the front for the first time. The main focus was on the fighting in the Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Zaporizhzhia sectors. According to the president, the situation remains challenging, and the government is working to expand support programs for Ukrainian troops.

Separately, the participants of the High Command meeting discussed the implementation of a plan for long-range sanctions against Russia, as well as logistical challenges following Russian strikes on Odesa, port infrastructure, and the maritime corridor. Zelenskyy reported that the government is preparing measures to diversify export routes with the support of partner countries.

They also heard reports from Ukrainian intelligence regarding Russia’s plans to launch new strikes against Ukrainian territory and civilian vessels. According to the president, Ukraine is already preparing appropriate countermeasures and has updated the list of the Defense Forces’ needs for further negotiations with international partners.
