Zelenskyy spoke about repairs to the Druzhba oil pipeline ahead of the Hungarian elections

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided an update on the progress of repairs to critical energy infrastructure, specifically the Druzhba oil pipeline, which supplies oil to Europe.

He emphasized that Ukraine will fulfill its commitments regarding the repairs, but noted that the work is being carried out with due consideration for security risks due to Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy made these remarks during a closed-door meeting with journalists.

Commenting on the political situation in the neighboring country, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine adheres to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of its partners. At the same time, he noted that economic agreements must be fulfilled regardless of the political situation.

“That’s their business. We have no involvement in their elections. If the issue of European funding in exchange for the ability to supply oil remains on the table, then we’ve said when we’ll repair the Druzhba pipeline. And the responsibility for supply will lie with the Europeans. We’ll repair it because that’s the agreement. I told them we’ll finish this spring. A lot has already been done there; Koretsky showed me. Of course, it’s impossible to quickly repair the destroyed tanks. So this could be a transit process with all the risks involved, and moreover, we don’t know if the Russians will refrain from new strikes,” the president noted.

As a reminder, Zelenskyysigned a law on preparing citizens for national resistance.

As a reminder, changes are planned at Ukrainian universities that will concern both the financial aspects of education and security training for students.

Zelenskyyannounced Ukraine’s new role in the Middle East.
