Zelenskyy hopes to resume trilateral talks with the U.S. and Russia

Ukraine and the United States are maintaining regular contact between their negotiating teams to explore ways to end the war and draft a document on security guarantees.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a conversation with journalists on Wednesday, Interfax-Ukraine reports. The head of state emphasized the importance of resuming the trilateral format of meetings, which previously took place in Geneva and Abu Dhabi but has now been postponed indefinitely.

Zelenskyy confirmed that the Ukrainian side is ready for negotiations at any time and in any format on the territory of neutral countries, including Turkey or Middle Eastern states. At the same time, he stressed that the resumption of direct dialogue with Russia depends not on Ukraine, but on the readiness of the other side. Currently, the teams are focused on strengthening the security agreement between Kyiv and Washington, which is intended to serve as the foundation for a stable peace.

Joint work on strengthening the security guarantees document continues on a daily basis to reach concrete agreements in the near future. The ultimate goal of these efforts is to establish a dignified peace based on international law.

U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have confirmed their intention to visit Ukraine, though a specific date for the visit has not yet been set. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that Kyiv is awaiting their arrival and maintains constant dialogue with the U.S.

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov reported that Ukraine is moving toward potential agreements with Russia. According to him, some progress has already been made, and a resolution to the war may not take long.
