Zelenskyy stated that the new defense minister must reform the TCC

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he has not yet made a final decision on the candidate for the new defense minister. At the same time, he noted that one of the candidates for the position is former Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

According to the president, one of the main tasks for the new head of the Ministry of Defense should be to reform the territorial recruitment centers and address the issue of so-called “busification.”

“As for Klymenko, I am considering him as one of the candidates. I have not yet submitted the relevant documents to parliament because, as you know, the appointments of the defense minister and the foreign minister require separate votes,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, the future defense minister will face two important challenges: establishing effective communication with the army and resolving issues related to the territorial recruitment centers.

The president also stated that eliminating “shameful practices associated with ‘busification’” could be one of Ihor Klymenko’s strengths.

“I believe that for Klymenko, eliminating these shameful ‘busification’ practices could be a strength,” the head of state said.
