Zelenskyy called for a more humane approach to mobilization

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine to come up with practical solutions regarding mobilization, contracts, and troop rotations.

According to him, the approach to organizational issues in the military should become more humane and systematic.

Zelenskyy emphasized the need for the Ministry of Defense and military leadership to work together to develop concrete proposals for changes.

As a reminder, during Operation “Honest Draft,” law enforcement officials uncovered illegal activities by two recruitment groups from the Kyiv Regional Military Enlistment and Recruitment Center and the Odesa Joint Recruitment Center. Ten service members were notified of their status as suspects.

Earlier, law enforcement officials detained the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Office on suspicion of receiving illicit benefits totaling 15,000 U.S. dollars. According to the investigation, the official was caught in the act of receiving $10,000 for failing to take mobilization measures against three conscripts, removing them from the wanted list in the “Oberig” system, and ensuring conditions for their continued employment at their places of work.

In Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, a senior lieutenant—the deputy company commander at one of the district Military Registration and Enlistment Offices—was detained on suspicion of assaulting a subordinate serviceman. The man was intoxicated at the time.
