Exchange Rates on August 21, 2026: The Dollar Weakens, the Euro Hits a New Record High
The official exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the hryvnia fell by 9 kopecks. At the same time, the euro rose by 27 kopecks and reached a new all-time high.

Throughout July, the official and cash exchange rates for the dollar remained within a fairly narrow range—44.4–44.8 UAH. Experts attribute this trend to the active policy of the National Bank, which has kept exchange rate fluctuations in check through currency interventions and sufficient international reserves. At the same time, in August, the foreign exchange market may be influenced by both seasonal factors and the situation regarding international financial support for Ukraine.
