Zelenskyy called Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an official telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The main reason for the contact between the leaders of the two countries was the U.S. president’s 80th birthday.
During the conversation, the parties not only exchanged formal pleasantries but also discussed in detail strategic security issues related to the further development of international events.
The fact that the telephone conversation took place was officially confirmed to journalists by Dmytro Lytvyn, the President of Ukraine’s advisor on communications.
Media representatives asked the official to clarify and confirm or deny rumors of direct contact between the leaders. When asked directly about the reality of the conversation, Dmytro Lytvyn replied succinctly: “Yes.”
The official from the Office of the President also noted that the conversation was productive and covered a wide range of topics of paramount importance to both countries.
According to the spokesperson, the conversation touched on the global agenda.
“We had a rather substantive conversation about everything—from birthday greetings to diplomacy and war and peace,” he noted.
